Second opinion

Asking for a second opinion is your right — and often a source of reassurance for making informed decisions.

A rheumatological second opinion means reviewing your diagnosis, your tests and your current treatment with an independent eye, to confirm them, qualify them or propose alternatives.

It is particularly useful for complex diagnoses, treatments that are not quite working, important treatment decisions, or simply when you need to understand your situation better.

The result is a clear report of the assessment and an honest conversation about your options — always respectful of the professionals who look after you.

What to expect from the first visit

Bring all the documentation you have (reports, blood tests, imaging). We review it together, resolve your doubts and I give you my assessment clearly — including whether I agree with the current approach.

Frequently asked questions

Can I ask for a second opinion without upsetting my doctor?

Yes. A second opinion is a patient's right and standard practice in medicine. It is always given with professional respect and adds information so you can decide with confidence.

What documentation do I need?

Ideally, the medical reports, blood tests and imaging you have. If something is missing, we will guide you on how to request it.

Does a second opinion mean changing doctors?

Not necessarily. You can go back to your usual specialist with the assessment, continue follow-up at this practice, or combine both. You decide.
